New Goodies From Estée Lauder

I recently paid a visit to my favourite beauty counter at The Bay to restock on a few things, and of course ended up walking away with a much heavier shopping bag than I'd originally intended. But such is life, right? #whathappensatthemallstaysatthemall

I picked up some of my staple products from the Estée Lauder counter - including the Advanced Night Repair Serum - and ended up falling in love with two lipsticks, a lip liner and a new day serum!

With spring right around the corner I find myself being drawn more towards bright coral and pink shades. And when I swatched this purple berry shade called Insolent Plum, I knew I needed to add it to my collection. I really adore that whole smudged berry lip look where the most pigment is placed in the center of the lips and then roughly smudged out. As you can see in the swatch below this shade will be perfect for that!

Since I love the ultra-creamy formula of these sculpting lipsticks I also opted for a pink-y nude shade called Intense Nude. This is a great everyday color for my skin tone, and adds a very delicate depth to my natural lip color. Oh, and did I mention that this formula glides on like butter? #inlove

While I've been experimenting a lot with drugstore lip colors lately, I did want to grab another Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Pencil in the shade Rose (04). I always go back to this hue, as it's just a touch darker than the Intense Nude lipstick, and a bit more brick-colored, which is extra lovely in the summer months when applied as an all-over lip color. Tip: Apply this lip liner after letting a nourishing lip balm sit on the lips for a few minutes (I adore the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm) for an ultra-natural look this summer!

And finally, I want to talk about what might be my most exciting purchase! I've been obsessed with the wonderful things that the Advanced Night Repair Serum does for my oily skin and enlarged pores. So much so that I wanted to try another one of the Estée Lauder treatment serums. Enter this little beauty - the Idealist Pore Minimizing Serum.

First of all, let's just take a moment to appreciate how beautimous this packaging is...

This serum has been a bit of a game-changer for me, in that it's completely shaken up my daily beauty routine. While it is designed to be skin treating serum, I find that it also effectively doubles as a primer under makeup. Here's how my morning routine goes now:

Cleanse > Tone > Estée Lauder Pore Minimizing Serum > Moisturize > Makeup

And I'm so impressed with how well this has fit into my routine. I do sometimes apply the Makeup Forever mattifying primer on my nose if I'm going out in the evening, but for everyday purposes, the routine outlined above is my go-to.
